Katia Lezine

Katia is a PhD student in the Department of Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences (DEEPS) at Brown. Her research focuses on understanding changes in surface water storage and connectivity across the Canadian Shield using high-resolution satellite imagery. Prior to coming to Brown, she received a BS in Environmental Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she did research using remote sensing data to study trends in mountain snowpack. During her undergrad, she also spent two summers at NOAA in Boulder, CO, quantifying the error in a satellite-derived dataset of ozone and water vapor values. She loves photography and (attempting to) figure skate on alpine lakes.
